FAQs
How much does Laser Hair Removal Cost?
There are many variables that determine the cost of laser hair removal: type and color of hair, size of the area to be treated, how many sessions are required. Typically, multiple treatments are needed, usually between five and eight, depending on area and length of growth cycle. We offer treatment packages of 6 starting at $399. A further consultation with our laser specialist is needed to determine the number of sessions you will need which will determine the exact pricing.
How should I prepare for my laser treatment?
Our providers at Dash Medical Spa advise that you stop waxing, tweezing, or plucking hair you want to remove for two to six weeks before your appointment, though shaving is fine. You should also avoid UV exposure during the month before your treatment, including that from tanning beds and self-tanning lotions.
Within 48 hours of your appointment, shave the area that’s being lasered using a clean, new blade. This helps the laser light locate your hair follicles.
What is the process of Laser Hair Removal at Dash Medical Spa?
Smaller areas like the upper lip, ears, chin can be treated in less than a minute, while large areas like the back or legs can take up to an hour.
First, your provider will determine what laser setting is best for your skin and hair, as well as your goals. Tell them about any medications you’re taking, as well as any medical conditions.
You’ll need to put on special eye protection so the laser light doesn’t damage your eyes.
During the treatment, the laser emits a concentrated beam of light to damage the hair follicle and prevent regrowth. While your provider methodically treats one small area at a time, you may feel mild discomfort, like a warm pinprick or snap, as the laser passes over your skin.
What should I expect after the treatment?
Take these tips for a smoother recovery:
- Avoid sun exposure. Any time you anticipate being out in the sun, apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30.
- Shave to remove any hair between laser sessions, but refrain from threading, waxing, and tweezing.
- It’s common to experience some swelling, itching, and redness after laser hair removal due to irritation of the hair follicles.
How long until I see results?
We have seen results in our clients a month after their first session, but generally at least 6 sessions are needed to maximize results.
With each treatment, the actively growing hair follicle is destroyed. Less blood flows to the follicle, and the hair that does grow back will gradually become weaker and thinner.
While your hair won’t always fall out immediately, it will eventually get there. Some hairs are ejected as soon as they’re lasered, while others can continue to grow and fall out over time.
