The treatment consists of two steps that are commonly referred to as passes.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technique will be used during the first pass to reduce discoloration for an even and youthful appearance. Various sun-damage effects, including freckles, brown spots, and age spots, can be related to this. Besides treating unwanted facial veins, this pass also treats broken blood vessels, spider veins, and rosacea.
"microbeam" fractional laser
A “microbeam” fractional laser will be used for the second pass, which will gently renew the skin for a smoother appearance. The unique technology stimulates collagen and elastin production, the elements essential to the support structure of our skin. With improved skin structure, fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and other surface imperfections are reduced.

How Does this Technology Work?
Dr. Troiano will guide the laser over the treatment area sending targeted pulses of light at unwanted pigment and vessels within your skin. The light delivered causes them to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process.
You should expect to see a decrease in the appearance of brown spots and vessels for a more even skin tone. You will see some improvement immediately followed by continued improvement over time.

Hello! Dr.Chelsea Troiano here from Dash Medical Spa. Here to talk about one of my favorite treatments that I just recently had done, which is the “Three For Me”. This is the combination of IPL for pigmentation and dark spots and 1540 laser skin resurfacing. It’s just those two modalities – IPL and 1540. You get many great benefits such as a reduction of dark spots and pigmentation, an increase in your skin’s hydration, and evenness in the texture from 1540. Also, an improvement in elasticity from both the IPL and the 1540.
Another thing that can be treated with IPL specifically is redness. Vessels around the nose, mouth, and cheeks, especially if you have rosacea. We can specifically target those while helping to improve the skin’s thickness and quality with 1540 afterward. It’s a great treatment.
It’s better when it’s done during the winter and spring months. You need to stay out of the sun for two weeks before and two weeks after. You can’t have your skin cells creating a bunch of pigment while you’re getting this treatment done. It could possibly lead to areas of your skin healing too dark, or too light, which is a problem that we can’t fix. Hypopigmentation is a no go. So, you have to make sure that you stay out of the sun, while you are getting this done.
So it’s a really great treatment, I love it. I did a series of three, scheduled every four weeks apart, and then I get a maintenance treatment every six months to a year. It’s a really great treatment, it keeps your skin nice and clean. Keeps your skin hydrated, thick and youthful.
